The Mill
Well, I don’t know about you guys, but I think that was a very short weekend….
I’ll kick this week of with a shot from the paper mill in Espanola, Ontario. It’s from a set of shots taken in October last year. I just happened to be going by early in the morning, and seeing the mist or fog by the hydro damn and bridge, that’ s just an opportunity that shouldn’t be wasted so I had to pull over and grab some shots. Here and here are some earlier post from Espanola.

Terrific shot with the building and bridge appearing like a ghosts out of the mist. Back in the early ’80s, I traveled the north for Olympus Camera Sales. Espanola was on my route twice a year. I remember the first time I visited the town. I could smell it long before arrival. The most memorable thing about Espanola, to me, was the mist emanating from the EB Eddy plant, which hung low over the town and never dissipated, as well as the dark brown colour of the Spanish River.

This is wonderfully seen and captured Jan. The fog/mist gives the scene a great mood as well as your choice of B&W

Great capture here, Jan. No way anyone could pass this up.
The mist/fog really adds a lot of character and mood to this shot. Sweet!

This is a really moody shot with the swirl of the mist. What makes the shot for me is the way the bridge mists over to allow the chimneys their own prominence

Love the feel that the mist and fog give the image. Really like the way you processed it as well.
